The Secretariat

Caleb Thompson

Secretary-General

Caleb Thompson is a junior at Harvard studying Statistics and Economics. Growing up, he had the opportunity to embark on several impactful trips with his family, including month-long visits to Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan, which sparked a passion for learning more about the world.

For his senior year of high school, he had the opportunity to expand his knowledge of the world even more by living in Adana, Türkiye as an exchange student. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, learning new languages, and spending time outside. Whether he is hiking or discussing international relations, exploration and curiosity unite his passions.

Ian Toyota

Director-General

Ian was born and raised in Bungoma County, Western Kenya. He is currently a 3rd year at Harvard studying Electrical Engineering.

He never heard about Model United Nations until post high school. In his case, this was when he joined Harvard University and found out about the International Relations Council. Over the past 3 years of being a member, he has gained a lot of experience, both substantively and executively. He served as an assistant director twice, and a director twice, and he is very excited to be coming back to Africa as Director General, having been a committee director at this conference's very first iteration in March 2024.

Outside Model UN, he likes cooking, cycling, and playing soccer. He also occasionally reads novels and watches history videos out of curiosity.

He can't wait to meet everyone in March!
